California Privacy Rights

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies solely to California residents. It describes your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
Information We Collect
In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information:

Sources of Information
We collect personal information from:
- Directly from you: When you connect your Discogs account
- Discogs API: Collection data and marketplace statistics accessed on your behalf
- Your browser: Preferences stored in local storage
- Google: Advertising and analytics data collected through cookies and similar technologies
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information for the following business purposes:
- Providing and maintaining the Service
- Authenticating your identity
- Displaying your vinyl collection visualizations
- Improving and optimizing the Service
- Displaying personalized advertisements
- Analytics and measuring advertising effectiveness
Sharing for Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising
We share certain information with Google for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. This includes:
- Device identifiers and IP address
- Browsing activity and interactions with ads
- Approximate location based on IP address

Your California Privacy Rights
As a California resident, you have the following rights:
Right to Know
You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell about you. This includes:
- The categories of personal information we collected
- The categories of sources from which we collected it
- Our business purpose for collecting or selling it
- The categories of third parties with whom we share it
- The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you
Right to Delete
You have the right to request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. Given that we do not store your collection data on our servers, deletion primarily involves:
- Clearing your session cookies (happens when you disconnect)
- Revoking Vizcogs' access via your Discogs account settings
- Clearing local browser cache via Settings
Right to Correct
You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information. Since we primarily display data from Discogs, corrections should be made in your Discogs account.
Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. However, we do share certain information with Google for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.
You can opt out of this sharing by:
- Visiting Google Ad Settings to disable personalized advertising
- Using the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool
- Enabling "Do Not Track" or similar settings in your browser
- Using browser privacy features to block third-party cookies
Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information
We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA.
Right to Non-Discrimination
You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights. We will not:
- Deny you goods or services
- Charge you different prices or rates
- Provide you a different level or quality of service
- Suggest any of the above will occur
How to Exercise Your Rights
You may exercise your rights by:
- Contacting us through our contact form
- Disconnecting your Discogs account via the Settings page
- Clearing cached data via Settings
Verification
To protect your privacy, we will verify your identity before fulfilling your request. We may ask you to:
- Confirm your Discogs username
- Provide information that matches what we have on file
- Verify ownership of the email address associated with your request
Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf. We will require verification of the agent's identity and proof of their authorization.
Retention of Information
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this notice:
- Session tokens: Until logout or 30 days of inactivity
- Cached data: Until you clear it or disconnect your account
We do not maintain long-term databases of user personal information.
Financial Incentives
We do not offer financial incentives or price differences in exchange for the retention or sale of personal information.
California "Shine the Light" Law
Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, California residents may request information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes. We share information with Google for advertising purposes as described above. You may opt out using the methods described in the "Right to Opt-Out" section.
